Bio Notes: Nothing is known of the background or training of Robert Aikenhead Scrymgeour, who was taken into partnership by John Ramsay Gordon in 1927. From about 1930 onwards the firm's work was in a very bold jazz-modern manner.

Scrymgeour lived at the Forest Hills Hotel, Aberfoyle which he had converted and extended in 1938-9. He died in Glasgow on 4 January 1939.
