Bio Notes: Little is yet known of George Malcolm Holmes Douglas. He was born in Edinburgh in 1849 and spent some of career in the Imperial Service in India. He had returned to Scotland by 1901 with his son William who had been born in India and in 1901 were living as boarders in Priory Cottage, Campbell Street, Cambusnethan. At that time he was practising as a consulting engineer. By the 1920s he was a partner in the firm of civil engineers, Kyle Dennison & Laing along with William A Baird Laing. Laing retired in 1926 leaving Douglas as sole partner.
