Basic Biographical Details Name: | Andrew Ednie | Designation: | | Born: | 1881 | Died: | 1 February 1937 | Bio Notes: | Andrew Ednie was born in 1881, the son of George Ednie, engine fitter and his wife Jane Amelia Potts Campbell. He was the younger and more conservative brother of John Ednie and was also a product of the Edinburgh School of Applied Art. In the early 1900s he had the same address as his brother, 73 Ashley Terrace, Edinburgh, but after John moved to Bishopton he moved to number 81 in the same terrace.
Andrew practised solely as an architectural interior designer mainly for Wylie & Lochhead and did not undertake complete buildings. His later years were spent on the staff of Edinburgh College of Art. He died on 1 February 1937.
Glasgow Museums and Art galleries has a collection of his designs that were copied by the NMRS in 1985. The listed designs are unidentifiable and probably unexecuted; both were published or exhibited.
