Bio Notes: Charles Barry was born on 21 September 1823, the eldest son of architect Charles Barry (later Sir). He left his father's practice in 1847 to form a partnership with a senior assistant, Robert Richardson Banks. They remained in partnership until Banks's death on 14 December 1872.
