Bio Notes: John Henry Dawson was born in 1861. He was articled to Liverpool architect Henry Sumners from 1876 to 1880, then assisted in various Liverpool offices for the next five years. From 1885 to 1888 he worked in unspecified Edinburgh offices before returning to Liverpool to join the Liverpool Corporation Surveyors Department.

He was elected LRIBA in 1910, his proposers being Frederick Ernest Pearce Edwards, Arnold Thornely and Frederick Brice Hobbs.
