Bio Notes: Phyllis M C Archibald was born in Tunbridge Wells in 1880 and studied at Glasgow School of Art, where her work was admired by both John James Burnet and Alexander Nisbet Paterson. She lived in Paris in 1909, and after her marriage (c.1910) she was known as Phyllis Archibald Clay and lived at Northcote House, Heath Street, and at 12 Wildwood Rise, London from 1911. In 1925 she was living in Bradford, and from 1926 at Blechingley, Surrey.
