Bio Notes: William Davidson was born in Cruden, Aberdeenshire, the son of William Davidson, carpenter and farmer, Hatton. He seems to have established his practice in Ellon in the early 1880s. He formed a loose partnership with George Marr in the earlier 1880s which lasted until at least the late 1890s.

He died about 1921. In April of that year a notice appeared which requested claims against 'the late Mr William Davidson architect' to be lodged with the agent of his Trustees. In March 1924 his property in Ellon was advertised for sale. It consisted of three dwelling houses and an office or shop in the Square and a garden in Schoolhill Road and a dwelling house with washhouse etc and garden in School Road accessible via a lane from Station Road. He was unmarried.
