Name: Alexander Black
Designation:
Born:
Died: 7 September 1876
Bio Notes: Alexander Black was a civil engineer and must have been in practice by 1840 when his son William was born. He was based in Falkirk by 1851. He held the post of burgh architect of Falkirk. He died on 7 September 1876. The British Architectural Library Directory of British Architects 1834-1914' seems to be in error when it states that Alexander Black flourished until 1883.
