Bio Notes: Little is yet known of Christopher Bisset. He was born in about 1834, the son of William Bisset, sadler, and his wife Christian Johnston. He would appear to have served his articles with an engineer but by 1861 was working as both architect and engineer. By 1881 he was married with three sons and a daughter.

In 1891 he was described as 'architect and proprietor of houses' and at the time of his death in 1904 as 'house proprietor'. He left moveable estate of £521 5s 11d. He was survived by his wife, Helen Chalmers, and his son, also Christopher Johnston, who was a solicitor.
