Bio Notes: John Biggar was probably born c.1830. Described as John Biggar Junior and probably then an assistant, he began exhibiting at the RSA from 15 Rankeillor Street in 1851. By 1855 he was at 45 Montagu Street, and in 1862 at 11 Roxburgh Street, but by 1863 he had settled at 16 Patrick Square. He died on 25 June 1892 at 3 Antigua Street, Edinburgh. His practice was primarily a Roman Catholic one.
