Bio Notes: Thomas Aimers was a mill engineer based in Galashiels. The firm, Thomas Aimers & Son, were described as 'engineers and factory architects' and was first established in c.1790 as Aimers & Lees. By 1891 they employed 100 people. Aimers was born about 1813, the son of George Aimers, master millwright and his wife Isabella Cuthbertson.

He died on 15 March 1877, survived by his wife, Isabella Reithead.
